Outcomes and Benefits

Hard Outcomes

  • Less than 0.1% difference between packhouse and fields logs
  • Yield per orchard accurate to 1Kg
  • 4 hours per day saved on communication to locate bins
  • 15mins ground level training required
  • 3 Hours of senior staff time saved per day logging manual numbers on Excel from scales

Soft Outcomes

  • All your bins live on 1 dashboard
  • Live, accurate data is available any time online
  • No Paper and retyping of information
  • Make proactive decisions based on reliable data
  • Prevent balance report issues from arising with real-time and accurate data
  • View your orchard yield outputs in real-time
  • Count hundreds of bins accurately in seconds using RFID Scanners
  • More time farming, less time paperwork

The Setup

How it Works

1. In the Orchards

  • Each bin is fitted with 2 Adagin labels (RFID and QR code), one on each side of the bin to allow long range scanning when bins are on the truck
  • The team leader / tractor driver uses the mobile app and scans the bin in the field after selecting the orchard that they are busy harvesting and the team’s name
  • Each scan logs a bin against the team, the orchard and the GPS coordinate. This information will now be available on the Live Dashboard for live location and productivity information

2. At the Loading Zone

  • Your bins are taken to the Loading Zone where the person that collects it with the truck or larger wagon can scan it in using the Long range scanner that scans multiple bins in at the same time.
  • The bins are moved from the Orchard on the Dashboard to the Loading Zone

3. At the Packhouse

  • Depending on the customer’s need, you can set up various zones at the packhouse with their own function. Below are some examples with their functions
    • De-greening rooms: You can set up your various de-greening rooms and have a live view of the number of bins that are currently in each room
    • Scaling: You can scale more than 1 bin at a time. Simply place e.g. 3 bins on top of each other, take the total weight and insert it on the app and scan the 3 bins to divide the weight by the nr of bins scanned. This weight is used to calculate yield per orchard. (Note: we do have a default weight if a bin is not weighed in)
    • Tipping: This is to show the number of bins tipped for sorting for the day.
  • As the bins are scanned into each of these zones, it will move from the last scanned zone to the latest scanned zone as the new information is synced to the cloud dashboards

4. Empty Bins

  • You do not need to purchase more equipment to scan the bins into the “Empty bin zone”, we have built-in smart algorithms that move bins to the Empty bin zone at a pre-set time each day after they are scanned at the Tipping area. This keeps our Dashboard updated and linked to actual bin-counts without human intervention.
  • From the Empty Bin’s zone, you can start planning the bin allocations to the field with reliable and accurate live data to repeat the process flow again.

Frequently Asked Questions

The dashboards update every 5mins

It is nearly impossible as we have flag lists that show bin scans that break a pattern like 1 bin that has been scanned 2 times in the orchard, but it has only been weighed once or the same bin that has been scanned within a short time by 2 different teams

It is not a problem as our application can work offline. The Phones that have collected data, but have not synced yet will have the data available on the phone itself, but once the phone is in reach of signal, all the data will be pushed to the cloud without the user needing to press a sync button and it will be displayed on the Dashboard.

Yes, all our dashboards can be exported to excel to be used for internal calculations. We also have a section that contains each data line item created throughout the whole system to allow users to build their own pivot tables in Excel

Each bin that is harvested has a pre-set “expected weight” that we use to calculate the yield per orchard. Once the bin is weighed at the actual scale and the weight is logged onto our system, does it override the expected nett weight with the actual nett weight.

Our system is billed at the end of the month based on the usage. In this case the usage is determined by number of bins harvested. Meaning that a bin will only be billed once and all scans after the harvest does not count for billing. Bonus: Kaap Agri Customers can ask for billing to be done through their Kaap Agri account at the same cost as a direct bill from Adagin

Yes, you will always have access to your data, even after the season.

We have a system to help with the data and sim management. If you’d like, you are welcome to take the sim management over on your own account. Call us to guide you through the process if required.
